Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Jaipur to Agra β Arrival and Evening Visit
Begin your trip at Jaipur and ride to Agra or you can take a train. On arrival you will be welcomed by a representative of Rajasthan Cab who will take you in the hotel wherein you will check in to your hotel and rest for a few minutes. Later in the evening, pay a visit to Mehtab Bagh, which is on the other side of Yamuna River and which presents a beautiful sunset of Taj Mahal. Then, go on to Sadar Bazaar, a bustling market that offers an array of handicrafts, leather products, marble products and some delicious Agra petha. Dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
Get up early in the morning and observe the sunrise at Taj Mahal which is among the seven wonders of the world. This is a magic scene because the marble monument is illuminated by the light of the early morning. See the gardens, the pool of reflections and the fine carvings within the mausoleum. Breakfast and visit the world heritage site which is the Agra Fort built by Akbar. Enter its great gates, palaces and the Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam which are the audience halls. During the evening stroll in Yamuna River. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 3: Visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and Fatehpur Sikri.
On the third day visit Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital state of the Mughal Empire. Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Diwan-i-Khas and Tomb of Salim Chishti See Jama Masjid, Diwan-i-Khas and Tomb of Salim Chishti. The two monuments are a display of Mughal art and history. Followed by another UNESCO world heritage site that is Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary ( Keoladeo National Park ) which is termed as home of migratory birds such as Siberian cranes, painted storks and pelicans. Take a ride in a rickshaw in the park and see and take photos of birds. Return to Agra in the evening and take over the night..
Day 4: Sikandra and Local Markets.
Morning walk to Sikandra, tomb of the Akbar Emperor, which is located on the outskirts of Agra. The monument is one of its kind in terms of having Hindu, Islamic and Buddhist designs. The place is serene to have a leisure visit due to the large gardens. In the afternoon, tour the colorful markets of Agra including the Kinari bazaar and the subhash bazaar which is known well in terms of jewelry, textiles, marble products and handicrafts. Other local Mughal dishes like kebabs and biryani are also available. The night is free to have leisure or explore oneself. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 5: Itmad-ud-Daulah Visit and Jaipur Departure.
On the last day, see the beautifully decorated Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb which is also referred to as the Baby Taj. It was made completely of white marble and very fine inlay is done on it; it is considered a draft of the Taj Mahal. Take a walk through the monument and observe the fine detail. Then go back to your hotel, have your checkout and then go to the railroad station or by road to Jaipur.
