Day 1: Indore to Agra β Arrival and Evening Leisure
Your trip to Indore to Agra starts with travelling by train or air. Day 2: Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
The second day opens with the sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal that is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The monument is a beautiful one to recollect because of the blissful morning light. Go on the tour of its beautiful building, complex marble sculptures, and the gardens. Breakfast and then go to Agra Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and built by Emperor Akbar. On the third day, I drove to Fatehpur Sikri, a former rich capital of the Mughal Empire. Go to the great Buland Darwaza, a great gate, a symbol of triumph, and Jama Masjid, still used as a place of worship. The Tomb of Salim Chishti is another significant site of interest as the worshippers receive blessings there. Take a walk in the structures including Panch Mahal and Diwan-i-Khas which are the representatives of Mughal art. Afternoon: Returning to Agra visit some of the shops at the Kinari Bazaar a bazaar that deals with jewelry, textile and marble and handicrafts. Go back to the hotel and take a night out.
Day 4: Tour of Mathura and Vrindavan.
After breakfast, have a spiritual walk of Mathura and Vrindavan, sacred cities of the status of lord Krishna. In Mathura, there is the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple where he was born. The second stop will be Vrindavan, where you will visit the Banke Bihari Temple, ISKCON Temple and the beautiful Prem Mandir. The Prem Mandir is lit well in the evening and it provides a divine feel. This excursion is a combination of religiosity, culture, and energy. Evening back to Agra where I have dinner and stay over.
Day 5: Sikandra and Local Markets.
On the fifth day, pay a visit to Sikandra the tomb of Akbar, the Emperor, which is right outside Agra. This monument is also special due to its combination of Hindu, Islamic and Buddhist architectural styles. It is in an environment of serene gardens. Then, in the afternoon, go on a tour of local markets in the city such as Kinari Bazaar and Subhas Bazaar. Buy marble souvenirs, art and craft, textiles and have a taste of traditional Mughal cuisine like kebabs and biryani. The night is at leisure and you can either relax or explore old places. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 6: Departure to Indore
On the last day of your trip, have a breakfast in your hotel and then leave. You can explore the local sites or do a last minute shopping at the local markets of Agra depending on time. Afterwards, visit the railway station or the airport to get back to Indore.
