Day-by-Day

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Varkala to Delhi – Arrival and City Tour

Your trip begins as a flight or train from Varkala to Delhi. Upon the check-in and a little rest, start exploring the Indian capital, which is so vibrant. Begin with the well-known war memorial of India Gate and have a nice time in the gardens around the monuments. Then, pass by Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Parliament House, where the democracy of India is revealed. Then, later, go to the Humayun Tomb, a UNESCO site with Mughal-style gardens and domes. You could end your day at Connaught Place or Chandni Chowk, where you can take pleasure in the street food and buy some souvenirs. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: Discover More of Delhi – Travel to Agra

The next day, just keep on sightseeing in Delhi after breakfast. See the Qutub Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world, and find out its history. Then visit Lotus Temple, an unusual flower-shaped building that has a silent prayer hall. You may also visit Red Fort or stop at Jama Masjid, which happens to be one of the largest mosques in India. Start your trip to Agra by road in the afternoon; it will take about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival, book into your hotel and rest. You may walk into local markets in the evening, buying marble handicrafts and eating Agra sweet, Petha.

Day 3: Explore Agra – Drive to Mathura

Begin your day with the Taj Mahal, which is among the Seven Wonders of the World. Construction of the white marble building was done by Emperor Shah Jahan to give a tribute to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and it is seen to be beautiful in the morning sun. Take a stroll in the gardens as well as have a look at the elaborate designs. Then, go to the Agra Fort, a red sandstone work of art and UNESCO location. The interior visits palaces, audience halls and Mughal courts. Visit Mathura in the evening, which requires around 1.5 to 2 hours.

Day 4: Mathura to Vrindavan – A Spiritual Journey

The morning hours should be used for sightseeing in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. See the Janmabhoomi Temple of Krishna; it is a sacred site where he is supposed to have been born. Another place to visit is the Dwarkadhish Temple, which is beautifully painted and has a rich atmosphere. The Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna River is a must not to be missed, especially in the evening when aarti is performed and makes it look like magic.

In the afternoon, drive to close-by Vrindavan, which is a town of temples related to the childhood of Lord Krishna. Tour through Banke Bihari Temple and the ISKCON Temple, which are both religious in reciting devotional songs and architecture.

Day 5: Explore Vrindavan – Departure

On the final day, post breakfast, go on exploring Vrindavan. You can come to Prem Mandir, a large white marble temple that is beautifully carved and gives evening light shows. Take time and experience the calm and religious atmosphere of this sacred city. Then later, as per your flight or train timetable, make your way back into Delhi by driving to your destination at Varkala.
