Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pune to Delhi – Arrival in Shimla (Approx. 350 km from Delhi)

The first step would be to fly or take a train between Pune and Delhi. Drive through Delhi to the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. Take pleasure in pine and deodar forests on the route. Take a walk through Mall Road in the evening, see Christ Church, and walk through The Ridge to have a great evening.

Day 2: Shimla Local Sightseeing – Kufri Excursion (20 km each way)

Visit Kufri, a pretty hill town located in the southern part of the Himalayas, after breakfast, famous for snow activities and the Himalayan panorama. Go back to Shimla and visit Jakhoo Temple, Scandal Point and Viceregal Lodge. Visit and taste local delicacies at the busy Mall Road.

Day 3: Shimla to Manali via Kullu (Approx. 250 km / 7 hrs)

Day 6: Manali to Dharamshala (Approx. 230 km / 6-7 hrs)

Explore beautiful scenery and small villages to arrive at Dharamshala, where the Dalai Lama is. See Bhagsunag Temple, Dal Lake and St John in the Wilderness Church. Relish the Tibetan harmonies in the town.

Day 7: Dharamshala to Dalhousie (Approx. 120 km/4 hours)

Breakfast, then drive to Dalhousie, a colonial town hill station which is covered by cedar trees. Tour Panchkula, St. Francis Church and peaceful Subhash Baoli. Walk around the local markets and have a spectacular sight of the mountains.

Day 8: Dalhousie – Khajjiar Excursion (22 km one way)

It is better to start early in the day on a day trip to Khajjiar, commonly referred to as the Mini Switzerland of India. Ride horses, take photographs and leisurely stroll around the lake. Go back to Dalhousie in the evening and rest at your hotel.

Day 9: Dalhousie to Chandigarh (Approx. 290 km / 7 hrs)

Go to Chandigarh, one of the cleanest cities in India. See the Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake and the Rose Garden. Shop or rest in the evening at a cafe.

Day 10: Chandigarh to Delhi – Return to Pune.
