Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Chandigarh β†’ Transfer to Shimla (Approx. 115 km).

Reach Chandigarh airport or railway station and start on your scenic drive to Shimla. It is a good road, and pine trees and fresh mountain breezes greet you. Check in at your hotel and spend the evening walking around Mall Road, Ridge, and Christ Church. 

 

Day 2: Shimla Local Sightseeing.

Then pay a visit to Jakhu Temple, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Vice Regal Lodge, and Scandal Point after breakfast. Take a stroll in Lakkar Bazaar and have a look at the sunset at the Ridge to finish off the day. 

 

Day 3: Shimla β†’ Kufri β†’ Narkanda (Approx. 65 km total)

Go to Kufri and enjoy beautiful scenery, adventure sports, and scenic views of the Himalayas. Go on to Narkanda, with its apple gardens and its forests. Go to Hatu Peak and have wonderful views, and stay overnight at Narkanda. 

 

Day 4: Narkanda β†’ Manali (Approx. 180km)

Start your nice journey to Manali and drive through Kullu Valley, river scenery and lovely villages. On arriving, book in the hotel and spend a relaxing evening shopping in Mall Road cafes and local handicraft stores. 

 

Day 5: Manali Local Sightseeing.

Begin with Hadimba Temple then continue with Manu Temple and Tibetan Monastery. Spend time in Vashisht Hot springs or do a walk along the river in Old Manali.  

 

Day 6: Manali β†’ Solang Valley β†’ Kullu (Approx. 70km)

Adventure sports such as paragliding, ride on the ropeway, zorbing, or just playing in the snow (seasonal) can be found at Solang Valley. Post-lunch drive towards Kullu. Tour Kullu Shawl Factory and have an evening at the riverside. 

 

Day 7: Kullu β†’ Dharamshala (Approx. 200 km)

Travel scenic mountain passes to Dharamshala. Upon arrival, stop by Dalai Lama Temple, St. John in the Wilderness and the local Tibetan market. Have fun in the calm pine forest and climate. 

 

Day 8: Dharamshala β†’ Dalhousie (Approx.120km)

Go to Dalhousie, a hill town in the colonialist period and encircled by cedar trees. Visit Gandhi Chowk, Subhas Baoli and the serene perspectives in the town. 

 

Day 9: : Dalhousie β†’ Khajjiar Excursion β†’ Amritsar (Approx. 200km)

Take the scenic and relaxing walks in the nature in Khajjiar, mini Switzerland of India. Keep on driving to Amritsar. During the evening, attend Wagah Border ceremony or visit the Golden Temple. 

 

Day 10: Departure from Amritsar

Breakfast and then visit Jallianwala Bagh or otherwise visit the Golden Temple. Take off from Amritsar airport/railway station on your way back to Thiruvananthapuram.
