Day 1: Pune – Delhi (By Flight / Train) – Haridwar (By Road 230 km / 6 hrs)

You can start your Kedarnath Tour Package From Pune at an early morning flight or train to Delhi. Our representative will welcome you on arrival and help in transferring you to Haridwar the holy entry of the Char Dham Yatra. On reaching Haridwar, do a check in your hotel and rest after the long journey. During the evening, go to Har Ki Pauri Ghat where thousands of lights are being floated on the river during the Ganga Aarti ceremony where the priests recite holy mantras. Take a walk around the ghats, visit the nearby shops or sample the local food such as kachori and jalebi.

Day 2: Haridwar – Devprayag – Rudraprayag (165 km / 6 hrs)

Then proceed after breakfast to Rudraprayag, the holy city of the junction of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. The highway passes through beautiful valleys, pine forests and cute hill villages, with amazing landscape of Garhwal Himalayas. On the way, visit Devprayag, the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda to make the Ganga, which is an ideal place to meditate and take pictures.

Get to Rudraprayag in the evening, and enter your hotel. You can go to Rudranath Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, or you can just sit and relax at the riverbank as the movement of the gushing waters forms natural symphony. Rudraprayag is a beautiful place to visit before moving on to Kedarnath, as the cool mountain air and serenity of the place make it a very pleasant place to visit.

Day 3: Rudraprayag – Guptkashi (80 km / 3-4 hrs)

Breakfast then drive to Guptkashi, a spiritual town that is home to Vishwanath Temple and is close to Kedarnath. The drive has an overview of the snowy mountains of Chaukhamba and the terraced fields. On arrival, get into your hotel and shower.

Thereafter, pay a visit to the temple of Ardhnarishwar which is the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. You can also visit the local bazaars or have a relaxing evening in the relaxed Himalayan setting. When the twilight falls, one can hear the sounds of the temple bells ringing in the valley, and it gives a strong spiritual atmosphere and a feeling of being in touch with the divine.

Day 4: Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Gaurikund – Kedarnath (30 km drive + 18 km trek)

Early departure and drive to Sonprayag which is the entry point of Kedarnath trek. Having done the required registration, proceed to Gaurikund where the goddess Parvati is reported to have meditated to attract the heart of Lord Shiva. Start 18 km walks to Kedarnath with shady pine forests, waterfalls and mountain trails.

Others who cannot hike may opt to use pony, palki and helicopters. On arrival at Kedarnath, get yourself comfortable in your lodge and rest. During the evening, visit the Kedarnath Temple Aarti, which is one of the most religious experiences in Hinduism. The incense, chants, and lamps generate some ethereal ambiance on the snow-capped backdrop of the Kedarnath peak.

Day 5: Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi

Wake up early in the morning to take part in the holy Abhishek Puja in the temple where rituals are conducted by priests early in the morning to the Lord Shiva. The spiritual power at the time of sunrise in Kedarnath is so overwhelming- a good time to meditate or pray quietly. End your sightseeing by then heading down to Gaurikund after darshan, which come back to Guptkashi by driving.

Along the way, take a break to see the beautiful panoramas of the Himalayas or other small shrines on the road. After lunch, have a hot meal and rest once in the hotel. You can spend the night walking in Guptkashi, chatting with people, or observing your pilgrimage in the quiet atmosphere.

Day 6: Guptkashi – Chopta (70 km / 3 hrs)

This is followed by a post breakfast drive to Chopta, an exquisite hill station that is located in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. Chopta, otherwise referred to as a mini Switzerland of India is a place where expansive meadows, cedar trees and clear vistas of Nanda Devi and Trishul mountains can be seen. Book in to your green lodge and relax.

Even later, take a short walk to the Tungnath Temple which is the highest temple of Shiva in the world. Go even a bit more to the Chandrashila Peak where you can have a spectacular panoramic view of the Himalayas 360 degrees. Go back to Chopta in the evening and have the scenic experience under the starlight sky.

Day 7: Chopta – Rishikesh (185 km / 7-8 hrs)

Following breakfast, move on to Rishikesh, the world yoga capital. The motivation is scenic and meditative, going through mountainous slopes, small towns. As you arrive, visit your hotel and have some sleep.

Typically, visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Parmarth Niketan Ashram at a later time, where spiritual seekers can also be encountered and can be taught about yoga and meditation.
