Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Haridwar
The Char Dham Yatra by Car starts with the arrival in Haridwar, one of the sacred pilgrimage cities in India and the entrance point of the Char Dham path. On their arrival, the travelers are received by the hotel and they have a rest following their journey. In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri to observe the popular Ganga Aarti ceremony. It is a very spiritual feeling when we can see hundreds of lamps floating at the river and the priests are carrying rituals. The ceremony is followed by dinner and a stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot
Breakfast and start by automobile towards Barkot. The drive then moves through the spiritual town of Rishikesh and slowly gets into the Himalayan region. Along the way, travelers are able to see beautiful sites of mountains, forests and river valleys. Barkot is a tranquil town, which has picturesque views and it is the base used to visit Yamunotri. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Barkot will be the place for dinner and staying over.
Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and Return
In the morning, a drive to Janki Chatti, where the trek of the holy Yamunotri Temple begins. Starting here the pilgrims start the journey which traverses beautiful mountain paths to arrive at the temple of goddess Yamuna. The believers pray in the temple and go to the surrounding Surya Kund hot spring. Dinner and overnight stay at Barkot after taking the darshan.
Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi
Breakfast and leave Barkot and drive to Uttarkashi. The route cuts across scenic valleys and the beautiful Himalayan scenery. Uttarkashi is a sacred place of worship and it is situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. On arrival, get into the hotel and relax. During the evening, pilgrims can go to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. In Uttarkashi, dinner and overnight will be planned.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return
Post breakfast drive to the holy Gangotri Temple. The road is along the Bhagirathi River and boasts of scenic mountain views, falls and fir trees. Pilgrims on arrival receive a holy dip in the river and visit the temple of the Goddess Ganga. Prayers and rituals complete, have dinner and stay in Uttarkashi.
Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
Breakfast and drive on a long, but picturesque road to Guptkashi. The path is through scenic valleys and river confluences referred to as Prayags. The journey will enable travelers to have the breathtaking views of mountains and rivers. On arrival in Guptkashi, go into the hotel and rest. Here dinner and overnight will be secured.
Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
Have breakfast then drive to Gaurikund, the base of the trek to the holy Kedarnath Temple. The pilgrims go on the journey by traversing the scenic Himalayan pathway to the shrine of Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is a place of remarkable spirituality, being enclosed by gigantic snow-white mountains. Upon arriving at the temple, pilgrims are subjected to darshan and prayers. The camping will be organised in Kedarnath.
Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
Darshan in the early morning at Kedarnath Temple is a way that enables pilgrims to be in the serene and divine nature of the shrine. Prayers complete, send the expedition back to Gaurikund and proceed by car to Guptkashi. On arrival, check in a hotel and rest following the long journey. Guptkashi will be booked in terms of dinner and stay overnight.
Day 9: Guptkashi to Joshimath
Breakfast; and leave Guptkashi, and go to Joshimath. The route goes across Himalayan towns that are beautiful and along religious river confluences like Karnaprayag and Nandprayag. On reaching Joshimath, get in the hotel and rest. Here dinner and an overnight stay will be organized.
Day 10: Joshimath to Badrinath
On completion of the breakfast go on to visit the holy Badrinath Temple. After arriving there, take a room in the hotel and pay a visit to the temple afterwards. There are also other sacred places near the pilgrims like Mana Village as the final village before the Indo and Tibetan border, Tapt Kund, and Vyas Gufa. Badrinath will be used as a place of overnight stay.
Day 11: Badrinath to Rudraprayag
Morning darshan and breakfast. Take up the road back to Rudraprayag. The route runs through the picturesque Himalayan valleys and religious unions on the Alaknanda River. On arrival, check-in into the hotel and rest. The dinner and an overnight stay will be organized in Rudraprayag.
Day 12: Rudraprayag to Haridwar / Delhi
Then leave Rudraprayag after breakfast and drive towards Haridwar or Delhi. The pathway slowly fades off the Himalayan mountains to the North Indian plains. Insightful experiences and sacred blessings of the four sacred shrines complete the Char Dham Yatra on arrival.
