A comfortable, spiritually enriching and physically comfortable means of attending the sacred places of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are the 11 Days Char Dham Yatra. It is designed specifically to the older population, families, seekers and devotees who have time to visit each site at their speed with time to rest and attend temples. It begins at Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun, and ascends to the Garhwal Himalayas along sacred rivers, ancient legends, and historic paths, with convenient travel options like a Rajasthan cab to reach the starting point.

 

Day-by-Day

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun to Barkot โ€“ Gentle Beginning of the Divine Journey

Yamunotri Dham Yamunotri yatra starts with a comfortable drive in the morning in and around Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun to Barkot, which is the base town of Yamunotri Dham. The scenic route runs through Mussoorie, where there are pine trees, mountainous roads and the Doon Valley. A brief visit to Kempty Falls allows pilgrims to stretch and spend time in nature. Barkot is situated on the Yamuna River and the height of the area makes it easy to adapt. Once there, check in to get a hotel, have a nice dinner and retire to bed.

 

Day 2: Barkot to Yamunotri and Return to Barkot โ€“ Darshan of Goddess Yamuna

In the early morning, get to Janki Chatti or Phool Chatti where a 6 km walk to the Yamunotri Temple starts. Pilgrims have the opportunity to walk or travel with ponies, palkis, and other services. The walk is inspirational, which is encircled by cascades, woodland, and Himalaya mountains. Devotees bathe in the sacred Surya Kund at Yamunotri Dham, make rice as a gift in the hot spring and make a prayer to Goddess Yamuna. Thereafter, visit Barkot and rest and spend the night.

 

Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi โ€“ Along the Sacred Bhagirathi River

Breakfast, then go to Uttarkashi, a holy place on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. The motorway has a scenic view of terraced fields, apple orchards as well as old Himalayan villages. Upon arrival, pilgrims pay a visit to the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Shakti Temple, both of which are of Lord Shiva. Uttarkashi is believed as the spiritual counterpart of Varanasi to the north, which provides a peaceful environment to meditate and rest. Uttarkashi overnight stay.

 

Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri โ€“ Darshan of Goddess Ganga

Early on a picturesque ride to Gangotri Dham, along the virgin Harsil Valley, with its deodar trees and a virginity that remains undisturbed. Arriving there, pilgrims enter in the sacred waters of the river Bhagirathi and then they pray at the Temple of Gangotri, the goddess of the river. Following the visit, take time to gulp the spiritual atmosphere. Night stay at Gangotri or Harsil (which is close to Gangotri) to get better absorbed.

 

Day 5: Gangotri to Uttarkashi โ€“ Rest, Reflection, and Acclimatization

You have a relaxed morning in Gangotri, and then lead your way back to Uttarkashi. Pilgrims sleep, have a break and meditate. During the evening you may go to river aarti, to local ashrams or you may simply appreciate the serene Himalayan atmosphere. This buffer day will ensure that the journey is smooth and fatigue-free.

 

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi โ€“ Entering the Kedarnath Region

Breakfast, and drive to Guptkashi by the Mandakini River. The highway passes over beautiful valleys and mountain roads. Reach and pay a visit to the Vishwanath Temple and Ardhanarishwar Temple. Take a rest in the evening and prepare to go to Kedarnath. Stay overnight in Guptkashi.

 

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath โ€“ Darshan at the Sacred Jyotirlinga

In the morning visit Gaurikund. It begins there the 18 km walk to Kedarnath Temple. You may walk slowly or ride ponies, palkis or helicopters, whatever that you like and the weather. It is a quintessential pilgrimage sang to with the words of Har Har Mahadev. Once you are at Kedarnath Dham, pray at one of 12 jyotlingas of Lord Shiva, surrounded by snowy peaks. Overnight Kedarnath Temple.

 

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi โ€“ Slow Descent and Rest

Begin the ascent trek back to Kedarnath after spending some time in the morning, and then proceed to Gaurikund and then drive to Guptkashi. It is a light day on which you may rest after the high-altitude walk. Afternoon is at liberty to rest, reflect and to relax. Stay overnight in Guptkashi.

 

Day 9: Guptkashi to Joshimath / Pipalkoti โ€“ Towards the Final Dham

Breakfast at Sriners and then proceed to drive to Joshimath or Pipalkoti via green valleys, river confluences and beautiful mountain scenery. The gradual and gradual up down path makes you adapt before you get to Badrinath. Joshimath is a great spiritual town associated with Adi Shankaracharya. Spend the night at Pipalkoti or Joshimath having dinner.

Day 10: Joshimath / Pipalkoti to Badrinath โ€“ Darshan of Lord Vishnu

Badrinath Dham, the seat of Lord Vishnu on the mountains Nar and Narayan. Before visiting the Badrinath Temple take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund. Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple and Bhim Pul are also worth a visit. Evening aarti and stay over in Badrinath.

 

Day 11: Badrinath to Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun โ€“ Completion of the Divine Yatra

The Char Dham Yatra ends with a morning Badrinath visit and then the journey starts back in Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun. The pilgrimage culminates in spiritual satisfaction, inner calm and blessings forever.
