Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun to Barkot โ Group Assembly and Journey Begins
The group tour will start with a morning gathering at Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun where pilgrims will get to know the tour coordinator and other yatris. Following briefing, the group sets out collectively to Barkot, which is the base town of Yamunotri Dham. The scenic road runs through Mussoorie and it provides a panoramic view of the forested hills and the twisting mountain roads. The group can rest and have time to appreciate the environment by planned stop at Kempty Falls. On reaching Barkot, get into booked group hotels, have a hearty dinner and sleep.
Day 2: Barkot to Yamunotri and Return to Barkot โ First Holy Darshan as a Group
The group starts at a very early hour and goes to Janki Chatti or Phool Chatti where the 6km walk to Yamunotri Temple commences. The members of the group can walk together at a leisurely pace or they can hire ponies, palkis or dandi services. The path is spiritually elevating with the chanting pilgrims, water falls, and the Himalayan sightseeing. At Yamunotri Dham, the group conducts group prayers, takes a bathe in the Surya Kund and offers rice prasad to Goddess Yamuna. Following the darshan, the group goes back to Barkot to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi โ Moving Together Along the Bhagirathi River
The group continues with the breakfast and heads towards Uttarkashi, a holy town located along the banks of Bhagirathi River. The road provides spectacular scenery of terraced lands, orchards and mountain villages. On arrival, the team goes to the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Shakti Temple, both of which are devoted to Lord Shiva. The spiritual mood and group singing bring about a strong devotional feeling. Overnight and dinner at Uttarkashi.
Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return โ Darshan of Goddess Ganga
The team leaves early in the morning to go to Gangotri Dham across the beautiful valley of Harsil, which is a valley of immaculate beauty. In Gangotri, the pilgrims perform group puja at the Gangotri Temple which is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River. The group goes back to Uttarkashi in the evening after darshan and prayers. Uttarkashi (overnight).
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi โ Towards the Kedarnath Region
The group proceeds with the journey after the breakfast to Guptkashi, which is one of the major stops before Kedarnath Dham. The long drive is made hospitable with scheduled meal and refreshment breaks. On their way, pilgrims see the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. On arrival, it can be able to visit the Vishwanath Temple and Ardhanarishwar Temple. The evening will be allocated to rest and briefing on the Kedarnath trek. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath and Back โ Darshan at the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva
The group goes to Gaurikund in the early morning and the 18 km trek to Kedarnath Temple starts. The members of the group can walk together, hire ponies, palkis or can hire helicopters as per their availability and the choice. The experience is augmented by the spiritually charged air with mass chanting of Har Har Mahadev. The group then takes a night after darshan at Kedarnath Dham, and then comes down to Guptkashi or Sonprayag.
Day 7: Guptkashi to Badrinath and Departure โ Completion of the Group Yatra
The group also goes to the Badrinath Dham on the last day through Joshi Math. On arrival, the pilgrims perform darshan at Badrinath Temple, the deity of Lord Vishnu, and have a sacred dip in Tapt Kund. The attractions that can be visited based on time include Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul, which are located near the river.
