Day 1: Chennai โ€“ Delhi (By Flight) โ€“ Haridwar (By Road)

Going by, pass through the busy towns of Meerut and Roorkee, you find the gradual change of plains to foothills.

Day 2: Haridwar โ€“ Devprayag โ€“ Rudraprayag โ€“ Guptkashi (210 km / 7 hrs)

Once you had your breakfast, start your scenic drive uphill to Guptkashi that is the entrance to Kedarnath. On the way, visit Devprayag, the place of confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, to become Ganges, and then Rudraprayag, the place of becoming the Mandakini.

When you climb up, you get beautiful sights of the river valleys, pine forests and mountain villages. Arrive and check in hotel, visit the Ardhnarishwar Temple, a place of worship of the union of Shiva and Parvati.

Day 3: Guptkashi โ€“ Sonprayag โ€“ Kedarnath (30 km drive + 18 km trek)

Early morning breakfast, then drive to Sonprayag, where the trek starts to Kedarnath. Start your 18 km holy walk or use palki, pony, or helicopter services that are offered around. The path will lead you through the picturesque scenery consisting of mountain streams, alpine fields and the smell of rhododendron trees.

When you arrive at Kedarnath, go and take a room at your lodge. Then later go to the Evening Aarti of the holy Kedarnath Temple. The spiritual experience is incomparable due to the chants, temple bells and the shining lamps under the night sky.

Day 4: Kedarnath โ€“ Sonprayag โ€“ Guptkashi

Get up early and come to the Abhishek Puja at temple, a close service in the sanctum which is very spiritual. Darshan is finished; now start your walk to Sonprayag where your driver is waiting to take you back to Guptkashi.

On arrival rest at your hotel after the tedious walk. You may enjoy your free time at the evening, watching the mountain breeze and the stars.

Day 5: Guptkashi โ€“ Joshimath (160 km / 6 hrs)

After eating breakfast, start your touristic journey to Joshimath, one of the largest pilgrimage sites and winter residence of Lord Badrinath. It takes the path through the winding Himalayan roads, hanging bridges and meeting point of holy rivers.

On arrival to Joshimath, checkin at your hotel. And then go on to Narsingh Temple, Adi Shankaracharya Math and Kalpavriksha, a tree that is thought to be thousands of years old, which was one of the divine trees.

Day 6: Joshimath โ€“ Badrinath (45 km / 2 hrs)

After having breakfast, lead to Badrinath, which is situated in the midst of the grand mountain ranges Nar and Narayan. Before proceeding to the Badrinath Temple, take a sacred dip in Tapt Kund, which is a natural hot spring which is said to have medicinal benefits.

Then after darshan, visit Mana Village, the final Indian village before the Indo-Tibet border, and the Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and the origin place of Saraswati River. During the evening visit their divine Badrinath Aarti and relax into the spiritual atmosphere.

Day 7: Badrinath โ€“ Auli (60 km / 2 hrs)
