In the morning, you will visit Agra located about 1.5 to 2 hours away after breakfast. Upon arrival, you have to check into your hotel and take a shower before you embark on your sightseeing. The emperor Shah Jahan built this white marble memorial in the remembrance of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and one can see it during the day when the carvings and structure is shining under the sunshine. Then, the Agra Fort is a UNESCO world heritage site to visit. This huge fort was a former home of the Mughal emperors and it is referred to because of its large palaces, courtyards, and halls. Have breakfast in the hotel and proceed to further sightseeing in Agra. Begin with the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, sometimes referred to as the Baby Taj. It is believed to have inspired the structure of the Taj Mahal and is famous in the fact that it has delicate carvings. Later, visit Mehtab Bagh, a Mughal garden on the other side of Yamuna River. Depending on time, it is also possible to visit the Akbar Tomb at Sikandra which is a blend of architecture between Hindu and Islamic design. In the afternoon drive to Mathura, some 1.5 hours away. Mathura, the home of Lord Krishna, is a place that has numerous temples and places of worship. Upon arrival, get out of the hotel and take a few rest.
It is a good idea to visit the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in the evening, which was constructed on the same site which is thought to be where Lord Krishna was born. Then go on to Vishram Ghat on Yamuna river. The evening aarti of this place, accompanied by chants, lamps and the river flowing nearby makes the place very spiritual. Overnight stay in Mathura.
On the final day, have breakfast and go on with additional sightseeing in Mathra. Pay a visit to one of the most celebrated temples in Dwarkadhish Temple. It is characterized with its spectacular architecture and colorful festivals and draws thousands of followers daily. When time allows, it is also possible to visit Govardhan Hill where there are numerous legends related to Lord Krishna, or visit the serene Birla Mandir. Then, as you will later be driven back to Vrindavan.
