Your adventure begins with a beautiful drive or train trip to Delhi to Jaipur and takes about 5-6 hours, to cover a distance of about 280 km. You have the choice of using a taxi or train privately. When you get to Delhi, when you get off the plane, you may stay in a transit hotel or proceed to Chandigarh, depending on the plan.You may choose to have a visit to the India Gate or the Qutub Minar or go to a popular cafe in Delhi. The vibrant atmosphere and the mood of modern and historical beauty of the capital gives you a zestful beginning of your hill vacation.
Start early and travel by road or train from Delhi to Chandigarh, a journey of around 4–5 hours. Chandigarh offers a clean, organized, and welcoming environment with a blend of nature and modernity. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.In the evening, visit Sukhna Lake, perfect for boating or enjoying the mountain breeze. Then, stroll through Sector 17 Market, which is popular for street shopping, food, and vibrant evening scenes. You’ll notice the transition from urban bustle to natural calm, setting the tone for the days ahead. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Solan, which is approximately 70 km away and takes about 2.5 hours. As you ascend into Himachal Pradesh, the landscapes transform into green hills, pine trees, and fresh air. On the way, you may take a short halt at Barog, a sleepy hill station known for its colonial-era charm.Upon reaching Solan, check in to your hotel and relax. Later, take a peaceful walk through Solan Mall Road, where you’ll find local markets offering Himachali woolens, snacks, herbal products, and handicrafts. Visit Jawahar Park or Children’s Park nearby if time permits.End your day with a cozy dinner at the hotel and overnight stay amidst the hills.
Today, dedicate your day to exploring Solan’s cultural and spiritual side. Begin with the Shoolini Mata Temple, one of the most important landmarks in the region. This temple is perched atop a hill and offers serene views and spiritual calm.Next, head to the Mohan Shakti Heritage Park, a unique cultural site featuring majestic temples, gardens, and life-size statues of deities that reflect India's traditional heritage. It’s a peaceful and visually appealing location perfect for families and photographers.Continue to the Menri Monastery, representing the Bon tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Its serene ambiance, vibrant prayer flags, and unique history make it a must-visit spot. You may also explore local libraries, parks, or simply relax at your hotel for the remainder of the day. Return to your hotel for a quiet evening and restful overnight stay.
After breakfast, set off on a day trip to Kasauli, located about 27 km from Solan. This quiet, less-commercialized hill station still reflects its colonial roots and offers a peaceful escape surrounded by cedar and pine forests.Start with the Christ Church, a lovely stone church built during the British period. Then visit Monkey Point, the highest peak in Kasauli, offering breathtaking views of the plains and the Sutlej River. There’s also a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman at the top.Walk along the Gilbert Trail, a forest trail known for birdwatching and natural scenery. Before heading back, visit Sunset Point and spend some time in the Kasauli Market, where you can buy local jams, woolens, and handmade items.
Drive back to Solan by evening, have dinner, and rest overnight.
