Day 1

Day 1: Transfer from Jaipur to Jammu and Pick up at Katra

Your journey starts with your travel from Jaipur. According to your choice and feasibility, you can either travel by train or by flight from Jaipur to Jammu. Jammu is the closest big city and has an airport and railway station, well connected to Jaipur. After reaching Jammu, a cab or taxi will be waiting for you to travel to Katra. The smooth and scenic road from Jammu to Katra is completed in nearly two hours of journey time.

Katra is a compact but well-established town that is the base point of the Vaishno Devi Yatra. You arrive at Katra and check into your hotel and rest. The first day is kept for resting and getting yourself mentally and physically prepared to go for the yatra on the following day. You can walk through the local market for a little while in the evening or simply have a quiet dinner at the hotel.

Day 2

Day 2: Vaishno Devi Temple Trek

This is the most significant and thrilling day of the tour. You rise early and prepare to embark on the sacred yatra. The Vaishno Devi temple is around 13 kilometres from Katra and can be traversed by walking, pony riding, hiring a palki, or electric vehicles. For those who like a shorter and less exhausting route, helicopter service is also provided between Katra and Sanjichhat, which is only 2.5 km from the temple.

As you proceed on the route, you will notice numerous other pilgrims chanting and walking together with you. The path has several refreshment stalls, toilets, and medical centers to assist the pilgrims. The whole trek is replete with nature, spirituality, and positive vibes. After you arrive at the Bhawan, you queue for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi. The darshan itself is extremely calm and tearful. People also visit the Bhairavnath Temple, which is a bit higher than the main temple and holds a significant portion of the yatra.

After your darshan and spending some time on the temple grounds, you trek back to Katra through the same route. The return trek is simpler and quicker. Upon return to Katra, you rest at your hotel and sleep after a day filled with spirituality.

Day 3

Day 3: Relax and Explore Katra

This day is for rest and mild exploration. Your body requires time to rejuvenate after yesterday's exhausting trek. You sleep late, have breakfast, and spend a relaxing morning. In the afternoon, you might explore the Katra market where you can see dry fruits, woollen attire, prasad boxes, and other souvenirs. There are also small temples in and around the town which you can visit for more blessings.

You can spend this day at leisure and simply bask in the fresh air and serene atmosphere of Katra. Some individuals also like to arrange for a spa or massage treatment at the hotel to soothe their muscles after the trek. In the evening, you have a quiet dinner and sleep early to get ready for the return trip.

Day 4

Day 4: Return from Jammu to Jaipur

On your final day of touring, you break your fast with breakfast at your hotel and then check out. A taxi will drop you back in Jammu from Katra. The trip takes about 2 hours. From Jammu, you either take your flight or train to Jaipur. On the way back, you have with you the darshans of Mata Vaishno Devi and the memories of an emotional and divine trip.
