Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Vadodara to Udaipurβ€”the City of Lakes.

Start your trip with Vadodara and take a ride to Udaipur, the Venice of the East. On arrival, refresh yourself in the hotel and relax and visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple, and Saheliyon Ki Bari.

During the evening have a peaceful boat ride on Lake Pichola and enjoy the sunset reflected on the Lake Palace. Stroll through the local markets with handicrafts, miniature paintings and silver jewelry.

 

Day 2: Udaipur to Jodhpur (Approx. 250km / 5 hours)

Have breakfast, then drive to Jodhpur, the so-called Blue City. Stops along the way include the Ranakpur Jain Temples, known because of the carvings made of marble and the very peaceful environment.

Upon arrival in Jodhpur, visit the great Fort of Mehrangarh, on top of which one can see the panoramic view of blue houses in the city. Subsequently, visit the white marble memorial of Jaswant Thada and visit the bustling Sardar Market located close to Clock Tower to shop for the local spices and fabrics.

Overnight stay: Jodhpur.

 

Day 3: Jodhpur-Jaisalmer (Approx. 280 km / 6 hours)

In the morning, go on a sightseeing tour of the beautiful desert roads to the city of Jaisalmer or the Golden City. When you arrive, get in your hotel and rest.

During the night, go to Gadisar Lake and observe the sun setting over the golden sandstone buildings. Stroll around the old city to have a glimpse of the magnificent havelis, such as Patwon Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, which demonstrate the rich architecture of Jaisalmer.

Overnight stay: Jaisalmer.

 

Day 4: Jaisalmerβ€”Desert Safari and Cultural Evening.

Begin your day with a tour of the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort that is among the few surviving forts in India. Explore its tiny streets, residential houses and quaint stores.

In the afternoon, drive to Sam Sand Dunes, which is 40km away. Take a camel ride/jeep ride through the desert dunes. In the evening, observe the sunset and traditional Rajasthani folk dances, music and dinner under the open desert sky.

Overnight stay: Jaisalmer Desert Camp.

 

Day 5: Jaisalmer to Bikaner (Approx. 330 km / 6 hours)

Breakfast and then take a ride to Bikaner, a colorful desert town that is characterized by forts, temples and popular snacks. Upon arrival, see Junagarh Fort, which is a magnificent fort that is full of magnificent halls and palaces.

Then continue later to the Karni Mata Temple at Deshnok, also referred to as the Rat Temple, which is a special spiritual experience. During the nighttime, visit the local delicacies such as Bikaneri Bhujia and take a walk in the streets of the old city that are built with red sandstone.

Overnight stay: Bikaner.

 

Day 6: Jaipur (Approx. 6 hours) Bikaner to Jaipur (Approx. 335 km)

Following the breakfast, go to Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, or the Pink City. You have arrived, so check into your hotel and have a rest. Spend your night visiting the local markets of Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar for Rajasthani jewelry, textiles and handicrafts.

Overnight stay: Jaipur.

 

Day 7: Jaipur Sightseeing

Take a day tour of royal Jaipur. First visit to the Amber Fort, a hilltop structure that overlooks the Maota Lake. Thereafter, visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar (an old observatory), and the symbolic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).

Have lunch in a nearby restaurant and experience the real Rajasthani thali. During the evening you can go to chokhi dhani village cultural resort where you can watch folk performances, puppet shows and have a delicious dinner.

 

Day 8: Jaipur to Vadodara ( Return journey )

You can change the direction of your trip back to Vadodara to a train, flight, or a private car, and then have breakfast. Take with you beautiful memories of the colorful city of the desert, the hospitable people of Rajasthan and incredible landscape.
