Day 1 — Arrival in Jaipur: Pink City Introduction

You can fly or take an overnight train from Kanpur to Jaipur. After you check in, go to the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar. Then, look through the bazaars for jewellery and block prints. Spend the night in Jaipur. Do some light sightseeing on the day you arrive to take your mind off the trip.

Day 2 — Jaipur → Bikaner (drive; approx. 330–335 km)

Bikaner is a true desert city with royal stables and forts. Go there after breakfast. When you first get there, go about the peaceful streets of the ancient city, Lalgarh Palace, and Junagarh Fort. The camel farms and unique desert culture of Bikaner are great ways to get to know the more distant desert areas.

Day 3 — Bikaner → Jaisalmer (drive; approx. 315–330 km)

To go to the Golden City of Jaisalmer, go west. After you check into a haveli or desert tent, go see the living Jaisalmer Fort. Later, ride a camel to the Sam Sand Dunes at dusk while listening to folk music at the camp.

Day 4 — Jaisalmer: Forts, Havelis & Desert Night

Visit the fort's beautiful alleyways, Patwon ki Haveli, and Salim Singh Haveli. After spending the afternoon relaxing, you might go on another dune safari or visit a village quickly to see native crafts and desert life at sunset. Sleep in a tent in the desert to see traditional shows and look at the stars.

Day 5 — Jaisalmer → Jodhpur (drive; approx. 280–285 km)

Day 6 — Jodhpur → Ranakpur → Udaipur (split leg — Jodhpur → Ranakpur ~150 km; Ranakpur → Udaipur ~90–110 km)

Day 7 — Udaipur: Lakes, Palaces & Boat Ride
