Take a flight from Kochi and arrive in Delhi and then check into your hotel and have some snacks. Begin your journey with the historic India gate and then proceed towards Rajpath in order to get a glimpse of the grand Rashtrapati Bhavan. Take a trip to the National war memorial, a beautiful memorial of the Indian heroes. Following lunch, relax in Lodhi garden, a peaceful and calm garden that contains Mughal tombs and lotus pools. When evening arrives, go to Connaught Place the colonial center of Delhi to shop and dine at The Imperial or Saravana Bhavan which is the best place to get South Indian comfort food outside their homes. Return back to hotel and sleep.
Post breakfast, explore the royal history of Delhi in the Humayun Tomb which is a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its exquisite symmetry. Next visit the Tomb of Isa Khan which is a rather neglected treasure of the same complex. After lunch, head to Sunder Nursery, a heritage park that is full of life with flowers, monuments of the Mughal era and lakes. Afternoon: Pay a visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and enjoy the best art of India. End your day at India Habitat Centre, a mix of art, architecture and food-- have dinner at the All American Diner or Eatopia.
Wake up and have your breakfast. Travel into the past today when you visit Red Fort, the centre of Mughal glories. Visit one of the largest mosques in India, Jama Masjid, and stand on top of its minaret to have a view of the entire city. Next, ride a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, the most popular market in Delhi- have parathas at Paranthe Wali Gali and sweet jalebis at Old Famous Jalebi Wala. Go to Mahatma Gandhi memorial, the Raj Ghad, to take a relaxing break. Enjoy the impressive sound and light display at the Red Fort before coming back to the hotel to end your night.
Your last morning will be spent out shopping and leisure. Visit Dilli Haat INA, a vibrant bazaar that is full of hand-made textiles, pottery, and jewelry. Sample local delicacies such as momos and litti chokha and go to Select Citywalk Mall where there are modern brands and cafes. Then, after lunch, you should go to the airport and say goodbye to the city that provided you with the flavor of the Indian magnificent past and present.
