About Chittorgarh

Considered the symbol of legendary Rajput chivalry, resistance, and bravery it has been a major tourist attraction in Rajasthan. The fort is located 175 kilometers east of Udaipur and is believed to be named after the person who laid its foundation – Chitrangada Mori. The renowned fortress is one of the largest ones in the country which is set at a height of 180 meters above the hill. It rises from the banks of the river Berach and is enclosed by many enormous gates.
Places to see in Chittorgarh are Chittorgarh Fort, Padmini Palace, Kalika Mata Temple, Gau Mukh Kund, Maha Sati, and Rana Kumbha’s palace. With around seven gigantic gates, namely, Padan Gate, Ganesh Gate, Hanuman Gate, Bhairon Gate, Jodla Gate, and Lakshman Gate, and the main gate is named after Lord Ram.
