Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Chandigarh to Delhi – Arrival

Start your trip with a fly or train from Chandigarh to Delhi. You will be met on arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport or New Delhi Railway Station and transferred to the hotel. Take time to unwind after you check in. In the late afternoon drive past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House for a short visit to Connaught Place for dinner. Overnight stay in Delhi.

 

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

After breakfast, set out on a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi. Begin at the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi, Raj Ghat. Continue to the impressive Red Fort (photo stop); afterward proceed to Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Then take a ride in a cycle rickshaw through the busy streets of Old Delhi. In the afternoon visit the highlights of New Delhi which are Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. Finish the day with some shopping at Dilli Haat or Janpath. Overnight stay in Delhi.

 

Day 3: Delhi to Jaipur

After breakfast, drive toward Pink city, Jaipur. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax. In the afternoon, enjoy a stroll through the colorful bazaars with traditional craft items, jewelry and textiles. Time permitting, relax this evening at Chokhi Dhani, a representation of a traditional Rajasthani village resort, and savour folk performances and dinner with Rajasthani cuisine. You can also take a brief walk through the labyrinth of old city lanes to sample Jaipur’s energetic street life. Capture the beautiful sunset colours bouncing off the city’s pink walls. Day 4: Jaipur Sightseeing

Head out after breakfast to experience the royal grandeur of Jaipur. Begin with a visit to Amber Fort, where you can ride an elephant or Jeep up to its grand gates. Visit Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) with its inlaid walls and ceilings. Proceed to the City Palace, where part of Jaipur’s royal family still resides and make your way to the Jantar Mantar Observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and walk through the old city streets of Jaipur. In the evening, visit the famous Patrika Gate, a place where you can pose for photos. Day 5: Jaipur to Agra (Enroute Fatehpur Sikri)

After breakfast, check out and drive down to Agra. Visit the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid and Panch Mahal on your journey. On reaching Agra, check in to the hotel. In the evening, see the sunset vista of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna River. Overnight stay in Agra. Later, visit the formidable Agra Fort, which also received UNESCO recognition for its Mughal architecture. If time allows you can even visit the beautiful Itimad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj). Transfer to Delhi airport or railway station in the afternoon to leave for Chandigarh with a memorable journey of Golden Triangle tour.
