Char Dham Yatra Opening & Closing Dates
The holy temples of Chardham open every year with the advent of summer in April-May and close with the onset of winter months in October-November. The four Dham temples, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, remain open for pilgrims from April-May to October-November. All the shrines close for winter and their worship can be done in their winter abodes.

Badrinath Opening and Closing Dates
Badrinath Dham will open for pilgrims on 06 May 2025 (Tentative) and will be closed on 06 Nov 2025 (Tentative). The opening date of Badrinath temple has been announced on Basant Panchami and the closing date will be announced on Vijayadashami.
Kedarnath Opening and Closing Dates
The gates of Kedarnath temple will open on 02 May 2025 (Tentative) and will be closed on the auspicious day of Bhai Dooj falling on 23 Oct 2025 (Tentative). Every year the date of opening of Kedarnath gates is announced and fixed on the day of Maha Shivratri. The closing date of Kedarnath temple has been fixed i.e. on Bhai Dooj (Thu, 23 Oct, 2025), the gates of Kedarnath temple are closed for winter.

Yamunotri Opening and Closing Dates
Yamunotri Dham will open on 30 Apr 2025 (Tentative). Yamunotri temple opens its doors every year on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Yamunotri shrine closed its gates for pilgrims on the day of Bhai Dooj (23 Oct 2025 (Tentative)).
Gangotri Opening and Closing Dates
Gangotri temple will open on 30 Apr 2025 (Tentative) and will close on the day after Diwali (22 Oct 2025 (Tentative)). Gangotri Dham opens every year on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya and closes on the day after Diwali celebrations.
When will Chardham open and close in 2025?
Every year, from April to May, Chardham opens its gates for pilgrims. The exact dates are decided by the head priests after calculating the Hindu calendar Panchang.
