After breakfast, drive to Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul. On this day you cross Rohtang Pass. You get a good view of snow-capped mountains as you enter the region, and this is your first feel of the tough landscape in the Lahaul and Spiti region.
On arrival in Keylong, check into your hotel. Thereafter, visit Shashur Monastery, a place of great scenic beauty and old murals.
Explore the quaint streets of Keylong and the surrounding landscapes.
Evening:
Quiet evening in Keylong, warm Himachali dinner at your hotel. Overnight at Keylong.
Morning:
From breakfast, drive to the biggest town in the Spiti Valley, Kaza. From here take a diversion to Tandi, at the confluence of rivers Chandra and Bhaga. It is a beautiful view against the mountain range of the two rivers.
Afternoon:
Arrive in Kaza, and check into your hotel. Visit Kye Monastery in the afternoon, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in this region. This monastery is situated well above the Spiti Valley and offers marvellous views of the valley below.
Visit the Kaza Market to pick up a few souvenirs and local crafts.
Evening:
Spend a quiet evening in Kaza looking at the stunning beauty of the Spiti Valley. Dinner and night at your hotel.
Morning:
After having your breakfast, visit some of the famous villages of Spiti. First, it will be Langza with ancient fossils and a panoramic view of snow-clad peaks. You cannot miss the view from there. Do see the Buddha statue overlooking the valley.
Then head to the world's highest post office. This is located in Hikkim too. And you can even send a postcard from there.
Visit the remote village of Komic. It is said to be the world's highest motorable village.
Afternoon:
Visit Dhankar Monastery; it is said to be placed on the cliff between the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers; this one is famous for being nestled against those breathtaking views and spirituality. Drive to Kaza to have your relaxing evening, after which dinner will be followed. Overnight in Kaza.
Morning:
Drive to Tabo, the 'Ajanta of the Himalayas.' After breakfast, visit the famous Tabo Monastery, known for the paintings and frescoes that were painted back 1,000 years ago. The site has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Nako Village.
Sightseeing: Proceed to Nako Village, which is situated near the Indo-Tibetan border. The village features a beautiful lake with willows and Nako Monastery.
Walk around the village and visit Nako Monastery.
Evening:
Return to Kaza. You can spend a leisurely night there. Dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay.
Morning:
A good breakfast and then an adventurous trip to Chandratal Lake, popularly known as the "Moon Lake" at 4,300 meters. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, owing to the breathtaking view of the mountains surrounding it. Take a quiet walk along the shores of the lake, basking in the serene beauty of this lake.
Afternoon:
Spend the afternoon at Chandratal, where you can have a picnic or lie down beside the still waters. The whole area is picture-perfect for photography as magical landscapes are reflected with mountains in the lake.
Evening:
Return back to Kaza in the evening and spend a quiet dinner. Night stay at the hotel.
Morning
After breakfast, take the exit of your hotel and leave to Manali. On your return, one gets an ultimate view of the valley of Spiti and desert landscape.
Afternoon:
On your arrival at Manali, visit any places that were unvisited on Day 1 or take a final walk to the Mall Road for the last-minute shopping.
Evening:
