Arrive in Manali, and your journey towards Lahaul and Spiti starts. Upon a warm welcome and check-in to your hotel after freshening up from the travelling.
Afternoon:
Visit the iconic sights at Manali: Hadimba Temple, that serene abode surrounded by the cedar grove. If time allows, take some time out to visit the Manu Temple and Old Manali—haggle for local handicrafts and just soak up the rowdy environment around.
Afternoon/Evening: Stroll on Mall Road with the cooling gentle breeze. A Himachali dinner awaited you overnight at the hotel.
Start with a sumptuous breakfast. From here, it is the journey to Keylong, which is the administrative capital of Lahaul, through the breathtakingly scenic Rohtang Pass. Rohtang Pass offers an aerial view of the mountains draped with snow and beautiful valleys.
Reach Keylong, a small town with a rich cultural background. Enjoy the beauty of the surroundings: the Shashur Monastery and Keylong Market. Relax and enjoy the silent surroundings of this small town while taking in the stunning view of the Bhaga River.
Evening:
Relax in the silent, peaceful evening at Keylong and enjoy your dinner at your respective hotel and then take rest to stay overnight in the respective hotel.
Morning:
Breakfast, followed by drive to Kaza, the largest town in Spiti Valley. The road passes through the Tandi village where the Chandra and Bhaga rivers meet and the arid landscapes of Spiti.
Afternoon:
From there, visit Kaza and enjoy the view of this valley. Check into a hotel and visit the Kye Monastery, which is one of the major Buddhist monasteries of this region. From there, people can get marvellous views of the Spiti Valley, and the calmness created in the atmosphere allows them to meditate and think deeply.
Visit the quaint streets of Kaza or the local market for shopping for souvenirs. Dinner and overstay in your hotel.
Morning:
After breakfast, visit the villages around Kaza and see the beautiful villages. It starts at Langza, one of the most famous places that hold fossil remains and offers an excellent view of the Buddha statue atop a mountain range. Then, visit the highest post office in the world and mail a postcard.
Then, proceed to Komic—the world's highest motorable village—and take in panoramic views of mountains across the entire region.
Afternoon:
Dhankar Monastery—the monastery is located on a cliff, above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers—a dramatic place, an ideal site for introspection, and has the perfect blend of spiritual serenity and visual beauty. Overnight in Kaza.
Dinner in Kaza would be relaxing, with de-stressing dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Kaza.
Morning
Breakfast followed by a day trip to Tabo Monastery; one of the most important monasteries in the region as far as Buddhism is concerned. Often called "Ajanta of the Himalayas," Tabo has ancient murals and frescoes that are over a thousand years old. Take some time to walk around the monastery and serene environment.
Afternoon:
Drive from Tabo to Nako, a village famous for its serene lakes and old monasteries. Visit Nako Monastery and enjoy the picturesque view of this beautiful lake with the wonderful mountains and valleys.
Night:
Return back to Kaza in the evening. Dinner will be served at your hotel in the
traditional Himachali way. Night stay in Kaza.
Morning:
From Kaza, check out after breakfast and return to Manali. Again, back roads that would have taken you through Spiti Valley, wherein again, all the beauty it had could have been relished.
You will get some free time to explore around the town or you may visit any of those attractions that you could have not visited on Day 1. You can go in the quiet ambiance or shop for any last-minute things in the local market.
Evening:
After this enriching 6-day tour of Lahaul and Spiti, you will be taken back to your hotel or the bus statiotoor return back home with some unforgettable memories of the serenity of this place.
