3. Street Food and Snacks

  • Malpua: Malpua is traditionally decorated with saffron and dry fruits on top, thus making it fit for kings, and is eaten most during festivals such as Holi and Diwali.

 

  • Puri Aloo: A delicious, basic preparation, the Puri Aloo can be eaten as a breakfast meal in the Pushkar region. This is a combination of puffed puris which are round deep fried breads accompanied with a spicy potato preparation. 

 

4. Sweet Delights

  • Lassi: Pushkar offers more of a milky version of lassi that comes flavored with cardamom, saffron, and rose water and has a layer of malai (cream topped) over it.
     

  • Gulab Jamun: Gulab Jamun is one of the most famous food dishes in Pushkar which is a dish prepared from fried dough balls and soaked in sugar syrup. It is a kind of soft, melt in mouth sweet which is consumed during festivals and occasions; however, it is easily available in almost all the sweet selling shops in Pushkar.
