Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: DELHI & DEPART FOR JAIPUR
Enjoy a traditional welcome at Safdarjung Railway Station by a royal garland welcome with a turban and Tikka on your forehead. Complete check-in formalities and get aboard the Palace on Wheels. Once inside the train, you are free to explore this luxury train and its facilities. Relish dinner in a traditional style. The train will depart from the station for Jaipur – the Pink City of Rajasthan. Overnight will be onboard.
DAY 2: IN JAIPUR & DEPART FOR RANTHAMBORE
This morning reaches Jaipur, the famous Capital City of Rajasthan. After a wholesome breakfast on board and embark on a city tour of Jaipur. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaipur which includes a visit to the complex of City Palace, Albert Hall Museum, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal. Thereafter, enjoy your lunch at a 5-star hotel. Post this, you will be taken to Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort. Take a tour of the colorful market streets to shop for traditional handicraft items. Here you can shop for souvenirs in Jaipur.
Aboard the train for evening tea. Enjoy some free time inside the Palace on Wheels. Relish a royal dining experience on the train. After dinner, stay overnight on the train that departs for Sawai Madhopur district, the next destination of this tour.
DAY 3: IN RANTHAMBORE – CHITTORGARH – UDAIPUR
On day 3rd, enjoy an early morning visit to the popular Ranthambore National Park in the early morning. One of the largest national parks in India, Ranthambore spreads in 392 sq km of land popular for housing a good population of tigers.
During the wildlife safari, you can spot Royal Bengal Tigers and other fauna species like sambar, hyena, sloth beast, spotted deer, chital, and 275 other avifauna species. After a safari ride, back aboard the Palace on Wheels for breakfast. Continue your journey to your next destination – Chittorgarh. Enjoy lunch and then go aboard.
As you arrive at Chittorgarh to see the magnificent Chittorgarh Fort. Later de-board the train to explore the famous majestic fort. The evening is scheduled for enjoying tea followed by light and sound show at the fort. After the show, onboard Palace on Wheels for an overnight stay.
DAY 4: IN UDAIPUR & DEPART FOR JAISALMER
The train journey starts for Udaipur, where upon arrival we explore the popular Lake City of Rajasthan. Founded in the 15th century by Maharana Udai Singh, Udaipur is quite popular for its palaces and lakes. It is one of the famous tourist destinations all around the world.
Start by exploring popular attractions like City Palace, Crystal Gallery, Saheliyon ki Bari, and so on. Thereafter, enjoy a royal dinner at Fateh Prakash Hotel, a heritage hotel in the city. The evening is scheduled for boating on Lake Pichola followed by tea at the jetty. Enjoy dinner on board and stay overnight.
DAY 5: IN JAISALMER & DEPART FOR JODHPUR
On day 5th of the tour, the luxury train enters the popular desert city of Jaisalmer. Post breakfast, onboard the train, embark on a sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. Explore the city including a visit to the extremely beautiful Sonar Qila, Havelis, Gadisar Lake, and Bada Bagh.
Afterward, return to the train and relish lunch on board. Later leave to enjoy the camel safari in the Sam Sand Dunes where you can enjoy memorable sunset views. Enjoy a delectable dinner and cultural performance. Then return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Jodhpur.
DAY 6: IN JODHPUR & DEPART FOR BHARATPUR
After arriving in Jodhpur, the Sun City of Rajasthan. Have breakfast on board the train. Later leave the comforts of the train for a few hours and explore its major tourist attractions. This includes the visit to Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and Umaid Bhawan Palace and Museum. Thereafter, you are taken to the famous markets across the city. You can get your hands on exclusive handicraft items like embroidered shoes, tie and dye fabrics, etc.
Your lunch is scheduled is in the palace hotel. Have dinner and stay overnight on board.
DAY 7: BHARATPUR TO AGRA & DEPART FOR DELHI
On day 7 of the tour, we arrive at the next destination – Bharatpur. It is widely famous for its bird sanctuary. Now it is famously known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. The reserve is popular for housing an amazing variety of bird species in the park. Then return to the train and enjoy your breakfast. You will begin a journey to Agra.
Arrival in Agra followed by a city tour including the world-renowned Agra Fort. Explore the iconic Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. Do not miss shopping at the Agra market where you can shop down for interesting items like jewelry, marble souvenirs, leather goods, etc. Return to the train and get back to Delhi from where the Palace on Wheel journey starts.
DAY 8: DEPARTURE FROM DELHI
Today is the last day of the tour when it enters the Safdarjung Railway Station. Have breakfast on board the train, followed by check out. The tour and services end here.
