Gujarat Desert Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Ahmedabad – Orientation and Leisure

Reach Ahmedabad and get into your hotel. Rest a little. Then stroll along the Sabarmati Riverfront to have a peaceful evening walk. Visit the local stores and have an experience of eating normal Gujarati food in a restaurant. Spend the night in Ahmedabad.

Day 2: Ahmedabad – Little Rann of Kutch

Break after taking breakfast go to the Little Rann of Kutch. When there, you will arrive at a desert lodge or eco-resort. Tour the desert in the evening on a guided jeep safari. seek the wild ass and desert birds in India. See the sun go down in the salt flats. Night with the Little Rann.

Day 3: Little Rann – Wildlife and Village Exploration

Begin the day by watching birds or walking through the salt flats. Then pay a visit to the adjacent villages inhabited by Rabari and Bharwad people. Visit their way of life and do some antique crafts. Participate in folk music or craft exhibitions. Over night in the Little Rann.

Day 4: Little Rann – Bhuj

Day 5: Bhuj – Great Rann of Kutch

Day 6: Great Rann – Kalo Dungar (Black Hill)

After breakfast, visit Kalo Dungar that is the highest point in Kutch. View panoramic Rann. Tour the Dattatreya Temple and other ancient locations. Go back to the camp in the desert to spend a night watching stars. Enter the Great Rann at night.

Day 7: Great Rann – Mandvi

Post breakfast, drive to Mandvi, a seaside town which does not appear to be part of the desert. Check into your hotel. Pay Visit to Vijay Vilas Palace and spend an evening at the beach, enjoying the sunset and bathing in the sea. Stay overnight in Mandvi.

Day 8: Mandvi – Bhuj – Ahmedabad – Departure

Breakfast and then after taking the breakfast, begin the journey back to Ahmedabad. To visit any remaining craft villages or desert sights on the way. Take your flight or train into Ahmedabad. Complete the Gujarat Desert Tour with pleasant memories of salt deserts, wildlife and culture.
