Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ahmedabad โ The Cultural Capital of Gujarat
You are in Ahmedabad, where you check in to your hotel and start your cultural tour. See Sabarmati Ashram which is famed in the fight against injustice in India. The pols, carved havelis, stepwells and Jama Masjid in the old city. In the evening visit the colorful market of Law Garden with handicrafts. Overnight in Ahmedabad.
Day 2: Ahmedabad to Lothal (Approx. 80 km) and Overnight in Bhavnagar (Additional 90 km)
Go to Lothal which is one of the oldest dockyards in the world and a key site of the Indus Valley Civilization. Visit the archeological museum, pieces of ancient town planning and drainage systems that remind about the great history of Gujarat. Go on to Bhavnagar, a seaside cultural centre. Tour Barton Museum and local market. Overnight in Bhavnagar.
Day 3: Bhavnagar to Palitana (Approx. 55 km) and Drive to Diu (Approx. 220 km)
Early start of Palitana, the seat of the well-known Shatrunjaya hill and more than 800 temples of Jains. There is a climb or palki ride to intricately carved temples, and provides some spiritual and architectural understanding. Afterwards drive to Diu, a port city of Portuguese colonial history. Arrive and unwind at the beach. Overnight in Diu.
Day 4: Exploring Diuโs Cultural and Coastal Heritage.
Tour Diu Fort, St. Paul church, Naida Caves and Portuguese old quarters. Both of the sites provide layered history with the fusion of the Gujarat and Portuguese settlers. Evening at the Nagoa Beach or the Chakratirth Beach. Overnight in Diu.
Day 5: Diu to Somnath (Approx. 85 km) โ A Journey of Spiritual Heritage.
Visit to Somnath where one of the 12 Jyotirlingas is located. See the Somnath Temple, Triveni Sangam, Bhalka Tirth and the Light and sound show which tells hundreds of years of cultural significance. Overnight in Somnath.
Day 6: Somnath to Porbandar to Dwarka (Total Approx. 220โ230 km).
Visit of the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi in Porbandar. Tour Kirti Mandir, Sudama Temple and oceanic fronts. Visit Dwarka which is an ancient city connected with the life of Lord Krishna. During the evening, visit Aarti in Dwarkadhish Temple. Overnight in Dwarka.
Day 7: Dwarka and Bet Dwarka Exploration.
Go to the holy island of Bet Dwarka by water. Visit Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Gopi Talav and Rukmini Temple. The area has cultural tales, mythology and ancient structures. Overnight in Dwarka.
Day 8: Dwarka to Jamnagar (Approx. 145 km) โ Cultural Crafts and Temples.
