Forts in Jaipur

As on the priority list of sightseeing in Jaipur, there are mainly 3 forts located in the town, namely, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and Amer Fort. 1. Amer Fort – Overlooking the Maota Lake in Amer village, Amer Fort was formerly belongs to Rajput Royals in Jaipur. Perched on Aravali Hills, the grand fortress set the finest example of Mughal and Hindu style of architecture in Rajasthan. The main attraction of this fort is Sheesh Mahal or Mirror Palace which is the iconic structure.

2. Nahargarh Fort – Also known as the Tiger Fort built by Maharaja Jai Singh II for protecting the city from enemies. It stands majestically on the Aravalli Hills and offers breathtaking views of the city. No doubt, the place is one of the best sunrise or sunset spot in Jaipur. You can enjoy morning cycling tour to Nahargarh Fort in serene and tranquil location.

3. Jaigarh Fort – Well known as the “Victory Fort”, Jaigarh Fort was built in the year 1726 by Maharaja Jai Singh II. It houses the largest cannon named Jaivan, museum of arms, and religious sites inside its premises.
