History of Amber Fort –
Quite a fascinating architectural wonder, Amber Fort traces its existence since 967 CE. During that time, Alan Singh was the ruler of the Chanda clan of Meenas. It was the first to build the fort and they were also responsible for the settlement of Amer. In 1592, Raja Man Singh of the Kachwaha clan, one of Emperor Akbar’s nine jewels built Amer ka Kila on the remnants of the old structure. During the Rajput ruler’s reign, the fort was constantly renovated further by different rulers, and Raja Man Singh’s descendant, Sawai Jai Singh completed the last additions to the fort and built the Amer Palace as we know it today.
The architecture of Amer Fort –
The fine architectural design of the Amer Fort was built using red and white sandstone and marble work which is a perfect fusion of Hindu and Mughal styles of architecture. From its hilltop, the fort flaunts colorful and vibrant designs. One of the palace’s main attractions is its impressive carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses on the walls and ceilings. The Amber Palace is divided into four sections each of which has a courtyard. The entry gates of the palace’s courtyards are designed with the stunning Rajput style of architecture that adds a unique character to it.
